The 12 Step Upholstery Cleaning Process:
Step 1: Pre-Inspection
We will do a thorough inspection of your upholstery with you to identify soiling conditions, potential permanent stains/damage and discuss any concerns you may have.
Step 2: Fibre ID Test
A standard industry test to identify if the fibres are synthetic or natural: this will decide on the type of cleaning solutions that can be used (not all cleaners do this).
Step 3: Colour Migration Test
This test indicates the stability of all the colours used in the fabric.
Step 4: Cushion Inspection
This will identify the materials used in the cushion filling, e.g. foam or feather.
Step 5: Shrinkage Test
Some fabric fibres are sensitive to moisture, causing possible shrinkage during the cleaning process.
Step 6: Pre-Vacuum
This step removes all the dust particles beforehand, leaving only the oily soils.
Step 7: Pre-Spot
Depending on the cause of the spots and stains, we can use specialised solutions for these spot treatments.
Step 8: Pre-Spray
We use gentle cleaning solutions to start the cleaning process.
Step 9: Pre-Groom
We gently agitate the pre-spray into the fabric with a soft horse hair brush to assist the cleaning process.
Step 10: Rinse
This step rinses and conditions the fabric of you upholstery, leaving it with a neutral pH.
Step 11: Teflon Protection (additional charges apply)
Applying Teflon protection will help guard your upholstery from both dry and liquid soil and will help keep your upholstery looking at its best. We recommend applying Teflon protection after each professional cleaning.
Step 12: Final Inspection
After the cleaning is completed, we will discuss everything with you to ensure you are entirely satisfied with the results.
